En Ancon, 2012. 16mm film, color, sound, 27 minutes. The seaside beachtown of Ancón, 42 km north of Lima, Peru, was a fishing village 4000 years ago inhabited by the Ancón-Supe, on of the oldest civilizations on the Peruvian coast. With an observational lens, En Ancón (In Ancon) explores in the space of memory to uncover the filmmaker’s past. Through nostalgic eyes, En Ancón interweaves childhood summer memories with a patient gaze that perceives the barriers of segregation that still exist in Peru
